In a recent post many of you raved about the thread from Connecting Threads. What kind were you using and why? I want to jump on board if it is better than Gutterman. I use it mostly for piecing.

I use the essentials thread. I bought the black and white set and I love it! I use it for piecing too.

i use it in my vintage singers because they thread on the outside but i never use it in my modern juki machines that thread inside the machine.

the lint is extreme compared to other brand threads and in my juki i would have to clean the machine after 2 hours of use because the lint build up causes me to skip stitches.

I use it alot, it's a bit linty, but no more so that Star or coats and clark. My Janome isn't fussy, I just clean out the bobbin area a couple of times during each project. The price and color selection can't be beat, especially when it's on sale.

Their thread is in fact the same as Star. A thread company doesnt make their product then limit it to just one store - they just change the label. I prfer not to use that thread because of the lint and thickness. Takes up too much room in the seams. Aa far as great colors, that is rrue, but personally I only buy white, off white, black and gray. If in the rare event I need a color, I vuy a small spool of Coats and Clark or Gutterman.

The CT Essential Pro is what I use for piecing for top and bobbin. It's thin and strong and no lint. It's a great value for the quality.
