The teddy bear panel with the rainbow stripes matches fabric I got from a "salvage store" when making my son's crib blanket, bumpers, etc. in the mid '80s! Brings back memories! :-) Have fun with your find.

Another thought on sheets...if cutting them up into quilts or using for backings. I've found that sheets that are poly/cotton blends tend to pill. Not a nice thing to happen to something you spend hours making. Make sure they are 100% cotton. I've started making sure my bed sheets are a better quality of 100% cotton for this very reason...tired of sleeping with "pills"!

Inside of every quilter lurks a bit of imagination. Also have you heard that neccisity is the mother of invention? My mom lived during the depression. We used a lot of make over things. We felt fortunate to have so many things. You sure know how to find good deals. Good luck.

I reuse lots of fabrics. I don't sell my quilts tho.

I believe using what was on hand to fill a need, is the core of our quilting heritage. We have simply turned it into a fun and creative outlet.

I decided to take all of my plaid fabric...quite a stack of
it, and cut up for a quilt. Thought I might be a bit short
as I wanted to make it king size. We don't have a goodwill or salvation army anywhere close so went to our local thrift
store and bought 6 or 7 all cotton shirts...all 'name' brand
shirts..get this!! for two dollars apiece. They are really
nicer fabric tnan most of my stash.
