Walmart has decent prices if you have one of the stores that still has a fabric department. I have purchased some fabric there that is identical to quilt store fabric.

There are 3 that come to mind Connecting Threads, 5bucks a yard and 3yard bundles.

I have gotten some awesome deals at estate sales. For example, I'm going to guess at the number of machine needles at 100 for less than 5 dollars. Granite, they are Singer needles, but I have not had any problems with them yet. In fact, I was using embroidery thread and the embroidery needle worked great. Check out estatesale.net for your area.

I've gotten clearance fabric online at Keepsake Fabric 1/2 off, about $4 or $5 a yard and free shipping if you order over a certain amount (forgot the amount).

Use those 40% off coupons from JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby! They also work at their online stores. (I need to practice what I preach on that one!) I also plan to visit the local quilt shops -- I know two of them have 40% off tables.

I've been lurking on this board/site for some time, have learned a lot and am very jealous of the beautiful quilts y'all have made and especially jealous of the FMQ that I'm afraid to try. Then I came across this thread and I must say that you girls have gotten me in a bunch of trouble! I've been quilting for many years and have tons of fabric but didn't know about all the online sites you have noted in this thread. Started checking them out yesterday, bought some and will need an addition to the house if I keep looking at them :) I do thank you though since I can now feed my fabric addiction and save money at the same time.
