If I really, really like the fabric, I will buy up to 1 yard more

You girls make me giggle with all the reasons for buying extra. If I like it I buy 3 yards min. If I really like it I buy 5, If I love it I buy 10. If the bolt is low I buy all of it. No more excuses for me. I love my fabric, enjoy looking at it like a fine painting, enjoy touching it. It gives me joy and comfort and keeps me out of the bars. I don't drink so that isn't so hard, but it works for me.

I always buy some xtra yardage & if I dont use it because of changes to the pattern of the quilt I may make pillow shams to go with the quilt or a couple of toss pillows. I have also made dust ruffles or valance to match a few quilts. If anything else it helps build the stash! LOL

I usually add up to 1/2 yard to my purchase, just to make sure I don't run out and to allow for shrinkage in pre-washing. I've been working hard to reduce my stash, and am down to a very small number of pieces (yardage) now. But my LQS is having a sale this week - finish the bolt and get 20% off. I suspect I may be increasing my stash on Saturday :)

I almost always buy more. My excuse is that I may make a mistake and want to be sure I have enough. My stash grows.
