I have found that EQ (any umber) is wonderful for trying out colors or even arrangements, even if you are not really nterested in designing from scratch. I often use it just to see what colors will work together, whether or not to use a border or two or three or which two blocks will work together or you can even do a Split nine or log cabin. I have been impressed with its ability to shop up something I had not seen when i am only working on one block and how easy it is to just turn a block or change a coor before I actually cut the fabric.

I'm sorry to be so dumb, but I don't know what a lot of the abbreviated letters stand for - dh, qb, dil and so on.

I have version 5 and it is dead easy to use, but can't get much use out of it any more because it is incompatible with Windows 7. I don't think I want to bother paying for an upgrade when I have sewing machine repairs to contend with...such is life lol.

I have EQ5...still doing theh lessons for it. I think it will be useful, once I am familiar enough with it to do the things I bought it for.

    Hi oldtisme,

Here is a list of abbreviations commonly found on the board. It's a sticky note located at the top of the "main" board, which means it never goes to the back of the line of threads.

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...s-t178507.html

Also, I'm not sure if you can edit your user name or not, you might need some help from Patrice with that. But your email address is visible to the entire internet, which might net you quite a lot of spam.

    Hope these tips help.
