What type of things do you applique by machine? what have you done? How about some pictures? Has it been in the hoop?

I love to applique myself! It gives me great pleasure! right now I'm appliquing the 12 days of Christmas. I've gotton the templetes all cut out and now I will start on cutting out the fabric. I have never hand appliqued? I always machine but would like to try something by hand just haven't tried yet. Here is a pic of one of my very 1st applique.

That's lovely! I especially like the irises - so pretty!

I've never done any machine applique.

I won't rule it out, because it wasn't that long ago that I swore I'd never do applique at all - and promptly fell in love with it!

Here's one of my recent few...The small doll quilt was done via embroidery machine applique...Others just machine applique with blanket stitch

Does anyone do machine embroidery on top of their applique? Not as the way to affix it, but as decoration? I've ordered a book about it, only it hasn't arrived yer. I have a piece of applique that I want to embroider before I attach it, only I can't come up with any ideas for the embroidery. It is a 10" fleur de lis. Has someone done something similar?

I love to machine applique. I'm still working on the other techniques. I like the starch method but I need a lot of practice making the edges smooth.

Here's a picture of one of my raw edge applique quilts.
