I worked on my FIL (lives in TN) quilt as his surprise Christmas present. It has an army square in the middle and I buiilt the quilt around that in patriotic colors. The blocks were samplers I have been making through the guild for "Underground Railroad" blocks and I would have a picture but it is on my quilting rack. I am about 2/5 done with the quilting with my Juki and I am really loving it. I will post a picture when I am finished.

I sewed together blocks for a Dick and Jane charity quilt. Alternated D/J blocks with 4-patch blocks. Still need to apply borders, etc. But the top is pieced. It was a good project for a cold rainy day (our first this season).

Pillow time w/Julie! Made 5 pillow shams, not cases, for our bed and 3 throw pillows. May have to do one more...not sure. And a batch of cut out sugar cookies, pressed half yard cuts and fat quaters that hade been wash and now ready to be tortured w/rotary cutter. Gonna take a break and to work so I can rest up for the next marathon!

Due to confilctiing schedules, my daughter and her boyfriend was not able to come Thursday so, I made Thanksgiving Dinner on Friday. Went shopping on Saturday (for Christmas Fabric for the dogs) and started designiing collar sleeves for the 5 dogs. I will post pictures when they are finished (If I can get the dogs to sit still long enough!). I also cleaned my sewing room on Thursday. It still isn't finished. It is so small that I just don't have the storage space. Working on that though. Looking for short shelving for the closet.

Made four eight blocks of "Beautiful Star" by Gylene Fitzgerald. I really love this pattern. I will post it later. I have eight blocks put together. It calls for 3 across by 4 down. I am doing 4 across and 5 down. I think 40 x 50 is a bit small, 50 x 60 is a little better. The pattern is "Wish Upon a Star ". I am doing it scrappy with all
Of my different white, ivories, greys, etc. leftovers for the background. I am really getting into the white and off whites for the backgrounds and if I am doing lots of really intricate quilting, I will do aa white or very very pale blue, grey, etc.
Backing so it can be reversed to a solid and be beautiful.

41 pillow cases for quilts that I am using for Christams presents there are 11 quilts so some get 4 some 3 and some 2 it all depended on the fabric available out of my stash.
