My Carpenter's Wheel Floor
My carpenter husband loves this pattern. He laid a hardwood floor in my sewing room and made this insert for it. the 3 blocks are all the same carpenters wheel pattern, but he varied the wood to make them all different.
I just love this floor and I"m fortunate to have such a talented husband. He's considering making these wooden blocks and selling them at quilt shops.

Love the Carpenters Wheel quilt, very nice. When it comes to mitered borders, you should really pick and choose which ones really need it mitered. Where you used simple (reads as solid) fabric in your borders, you don't need to miter the corner. It really isn't necessary and does not make much different. Save time where you can and work on other things on your list.

Beautiful workmanship, love it. However....don't give up on the mitered corners. I felt the same way you do, but was determined to master "A perfect mitered corner" so I went to www. You Tube Sharon Schamber's perfect mitered corner. com I watched the video four times... and wrote down every little detail or step, until I understood. Then I went back to my binding and produced a "perfect " mitered corner. I feel so much better to have mastered that step. Don't give up, it such a good feeling to accomplish that.
