    Default Doll Quilt Quiz

This is the quilt I made for my partner in the January Doll Quilt Swap. The theme was "Show me where you are from." I couldn't resist adding an extra layer of fun and turning it into a riddle. The quilt represents the town where I grew up, and there are three questions:-

    1. Name the town.

    2. What is the significance of the button and quill in the border?

    3. Why did I ask Chele, the swap co-ordinator, to give me Scrap4evr as my partner? (Thank you Chele for being a great sport).

My partner has received the quilt today and has set to work to solve the riddle, but she's not there yet! Get googling, everyone...

English members are at a disadvantage because they have to walk three times round the house singing both verses of Jerusalem before they begin....

Muv- I can't wait to know the answers, but I'm hopeless at riddles! You were totally creative.

Such an artistic and beautiful quilt. I stink at riddles too. Great job, Wolverhampton Muv!

What a fun Google/Wikipedia journey you've sent me on, and what a neat little quilt. I would never have thought of "Button" as an actual name.

After reading all about your fair city, I was thinking how short our history is here in the USA. We celebrate one and maybe 2 centuries, but your history goes back milleniums! But I guess history has to start someplace and have the first 2 now onto the last ?
I have been derailed as I remembered that DH's ancestors came from Huddlesfield (West Yorkshire) in the 1840's. They are "pioneers" in Wisconsin, now another door opens into my history lesson.
Thanks for the trip back in time.

Thank you to everyone who has taken part so far... you are definitely getting warm!

I'm hoping someone can crack this riddle and answer all three questions, but I won't keep you in suspense for ever...

Chele and CQRobin, yes you are right, the town is Wolverhampton. "Out of darkness cometh light" is the motto on the town's coat of arms.

Now see if you can crack questions 2 and 3, because that is where it gets really interesting.

Yes it does! Trying to connect 2 and 3
    Is Scrap4evr a descendent?
