    Here's a set of 4 1/2" blocks I just finished. I made me a couple of extras.

Ronda, too bad you have one of the 'picky' post offices. Thanks for being on top of it ahead of time. Gotta go work on those blocks. Question: we have about 3 dozen chicks arriving in the mail in a few weeks... should I make little chick pp blocks for this swap? Hmmm...

Rhonda, I sent my 5 sets of blocks to you today. You should get them Friday or Saturday. Everything is in one big zip lock bag.

Need a lil help understanding the PP pattern Im trying to make for the swap. The block patterns are called Home on the Range which I thought would fit really well for the home theme and all. The pattern is found in the Quick & Easy Quilting Magazine, Vol 18 page 18. The problem Im having understanding is what the directions are asking for where it says to applique these lines. Only mentions it on the print pattern doesnt mention it anywhere in the instructions.. I really love this block but Im confused on this one. Help please if anyone has done this pattern or the likes. Thanks

Jenniky, that's a cute horse pattern you posted! You can do one of two things with the block.
    1) you can cut on the line between 1,2 3 & 4,5,6 and make another part that you stitch back to 1,2 & 3 after you've stitched both pieces seperately. In this instance, 7 & 8 would become 4 & 5. 4,5 & 6 would become 1,2 & 3 on the other piece.

    2) Make a template of the ear which is the piece between 4 & 5 and ignore it and #6 would become #4. After it's paper pieced, you would then applique the ear on the outside of the finished block in the position it shows now. You can't applique and paper piece at the same time. Applique has to go on the outside of a finished block.

Hope this helps! Good luck with whatever method you use! Can't wait to see it done!
