What's really nice about the "new board" is that if someone quotes someone else, there is this little icon next to the quote that you can click on to see the entire post which INCLUDES THE PICTURES!!! the commentor is referring to. How cool is that???

Oh how I love all these yellow quilts!!!!! Someone, I think it might have been my grandmother, told me every quilt needs a little yellow in it. Now, I can certainly believe she knew what she was tallking about.

Default My first bed quilt.

I am fairly new to quilting. I've made a number of small things, and a couple of lap quilts.
This is the first bed quilt, also the first one I ever sent out to be quilted.
Wow. Is that ever fun! Her stitching brought my quilt up to another level.

It was just finished this week, and I'm giving it away this weekend.
The recipient's favorite color is yellow, and a "pale, pale yellow" at that.
It was tricky coming up with pastels for an adult, and pale pastels in general can make for a plain effect, so I incorporated some contrast, and some blue, and lots of lavender (backing, too) as a complement to the yellow.
I didn't much care for yellow when I started, but after all these months I've learned to like it!

I can't believe I didn't discover this thread until I was finished with my yellow quilt. It is so inspiring. What a beautiful quilt show! All so special.
