Default Think I killed my sewing machine

I am not a happy camper at the moment....I went to sew today and the first thing I did was break a needle....and now it will not hold a stitch...and it will not pick up the bobbin thread....I have a Janome quilters companion 6019 anyone have suggestions on what it could be. I have taken off the plate and cleaned it out...there was lots of dust bunnies living in there....

OOH, sorry. I would try one more new needle, but it sounds like you may have knocked it out of time...

Sounds like the needle may of hit something in the bobbin holder. Don't know anything about your machine but check to see if any screws in the foot were knocked loose.

Several things will keep the needle from picking up the bobbin thread in my older machines. One: I threaded the needle left to right when it should be right to left: the bobbin thread isn't threaded in the bobbin case right: needle not all the way inserted in the shaft: bobbin winder wasn't fully disengaged. I've broken many a needle and never had that mess up the timing.

I was going to suggest that maybe you had the needle in the wrong way.
