I am with you on the quilting part! I have been a long time hand quilter...only been machine quilting the last 2 years or so....and when I say years, I use that term loosely...lol...I am great with the 1/8" away from the ditch stitch, and outline stitch...but the fmq is something I just struggle with...my lqs "sisters" tell me I am too hard on myself...all I know is if I am doing it by machine, and I don't like it, I revert back to hand quilting...so, you and I can cheer each other on, eh??!!

Thanks for joining!! You actually have until the end of Oct to get your wall hanging done and a picture turned in. So if you need to rearrange your time to do it that isn't a problem for me.
Thanks Rhonda, and that's what I figured is I will have time to work on it after the wedding...and yes, dh and I are so very excited! As I already said, ds is our only child, and he is marrying such a dear girl...July will be a busy month for me, ds wedding, and he also will be 27 in July, and my lqs is having our annual Shop Hop in July...so busy times...but the happy of it far outweighs anything else!
    Regards,
    Kif

This looks interesting. I do have a question .... Does the wall hanging have to be made in 4 blocks?

Sorry to take so long to answer. I've been tied up helping my mom.

For this first swap yes it will need to be 4 quilt blocks. But you can use any method you want and put them together with any thing you want to add. You can use more than 4 or add smaller or larger blocks into the mix. You can use differant size blocks not all 4 have to be the same size or the same type.

This can be but doesn't have to be a 4 block with sashing wall hanging. The sky's the limit on how you do the 4 blocks and how you put the top together.

If this one goes over well we may do an anything goes next time.

I am in! But what is a Mug rug? That term is not one I have heard before! I have a really cool idea, I will do my June block this weekend.

And let me know if I am correct after we finish with out wall hanging we swap them at the end?

I am giving a hint of what I have in my Mind: Black and white with a touch of Red ~

A mug rug is a mini quilt that you use for setting your coffee mug on and there is usually room for snack on it too.
Type mug rug into search up above and you should see all hte threads on here about ones people have made.

Yes at the end of the 4 months I will send out randomly addresses to everyone to send your wall hanging to another player in the swap. Until then noone will know who is getting which wall hanging! Oh the suspense! LOL
