I like the third one but I think any of them are going to look good. I also think a thin (1") yellow border would really frame it nicely. I hope you post pics when you get it finished.

Yes, Diane007. I started out with 10" squares and now have them at 6", but kept the focus block at 10". I like it much better now! The photos are of the 6" blocks. I was thinking I'd get this done really quickly by using the larger blocks, but bigger isn't always better! lol

Kelly, I'll definitely post photos when it's finished! I've already got eight more blocks done since my earlier post, so it's going very quickly, even with the smaller blocks. This one is quite easy to do.

I've seen some posts where people have had trouble with puckers when sewing the last seam with the focus block in it, but haven't run into that problem myself. I found that if I just push the inside of the focus block down, then pin the center seam, then put my finger into the fold of the focus block to position it, the rest of the block stays out of the way nicely.

I think the third one looks like the bow tie quilt block. Would be a quick way of making this pattern.

I vote for #1, too. I think these blocks are awesome & are going to make a beautiful quilt. I like your border ideas, too. Please post again when you get this all together, OK?

I must agree with the majority - This quilt hits a home run!!!!!! I think once all the blocks are combined the baseball diamond effect will fade away. I like the look of # 1, but that calls for some fancy quilting IMHO. If you are planning on doing QAYG, I'd go for # 3 since your eye will accept the quilting lines not matching up with the alternating blocks.

I like the 3rd the best. Don't think I'd care for the 2nd one with continued blocks, 1 & 4 show how both would look together I think.
