Default Ironing area before and after

1st pictures was my ironing area. Next is the ironing board my husband made me. It is a tool box from Lowe's with 1/2" plywood cut 24" x 48". I covered it with cotton batting and the silver ironing board fabric.

Yes I think he really does love me, we have been married 41 years. Tool box was only $99 at Lowe's.

What a great idea - love it. It would also be great to attach a larger piece of plywood and cover it with a cutting mat for a cutting station. My husband made me a cutting station by putting plywood on top of two base cabinets and he attached one of those big white cutting mats from Joanns and put some plastic edging around the edges. Gives me lots of cutting space and room for all my tools, notions and storage space below. I put a regular cutting mat on top because I am not sure of those large white cutting mats are self healing.

Very nice ironing surface and since it's on wheels, you can use it for extra quilt support when FMQ.
