    Quiltingmommy

Thanks. I've not made too many blocks with directional fabric, and I've never made one with a limited amount of fabric. I would hate to send it out and the recipient struggled with the amount of fabric to make the directions match.

As for two groups ... wish I could. I've got a lot on my plate. With this being my first (hopefully not my last) boomerang I think I'll stick to the small group to make sure I can do it and I like it (don't think there will be much of a problem with the later - it's the former I'm worried about). As it is I have another project I have to finish first as there is a deadline (baby due!).

So... today I took all my practice blocks and put them into a lap quilt for Dh's aunt. Not bad. I still need to border it. But, I need to buy a fabric for that. As you see, I had that one that was not big enough and I had to add a bit of fabric to it. I don't like doing that, but for this I did it.

Wow, I've never seen 'possum fabric before.

I got my fabric washed, cut and bagged. I have included a note with my name and info in each baggie. I've got the tiny polka-dot fabric. I have been thinking about the overall feeling that I want from the quilt and I think light pink and chocolate brown would look best with the print.

I tried to add pics in my last post but it didn't work out. I found some images online of the color scheme I am going with. My fabric has the turquoise blue, and I'm asking for the light pink and browns from you all.

    Happy quilting

I like that color combo quilter mommy. You know I always go for the lavenders so have to remember this. Not going to give you a pic but if you get my fabric, imagination is all yours. Blueberry pie, banana basket, bowl of tomatoes? I'm sure you know by now. From swaps, I have soooooo many blocks to put together I thought I could make table runner and placemats. Last boom I'm making a shadow box style, batik swap...haven't started yet. Ironed fabric for this today, cut tomorrow, wrote out little notes today, sooooo think I'll have to wait to address names. I'm partially ready to send out quickly. Let the fun begin!!

I love those two fabrics Sue. Those would be wonderful to play with especially if you mention your "vision" for them ie who they might be made for and colors you would want or not want. I love them.

Kensington, that added strip ties it in rather well. Quick on your feet there! Possums? possums??? sure. Bring 'em on. Cowgirls never quit when faced with a challenge. Of course, I am stumped but heck its a quilt you HAVE to do living where you do.. hey I live in Avery. Maybe next time I send birds and cages out.. hum... you got me thinking dear. Not a bad thing, now all I gotta do is remember what I was thinking about!

Keningston....love the blocks all together...see you have the hang of it.

Not sure of the possums yet...it could be a "tease" just to get some people worried about the critters (country furbabies) coming...I have some lovely blue too or a great halloween snoopy one...

Yes, that's a possum "hiding" in our tree by the front porch.

Yes those are 3 baby racoons in the bird feeder on our front porch.

So a critter quilt would be appropriate around here.
