    There is a ruler to do these, I happen to be a gadget person. It is called"Lazy Angle" ruler....Love it.

    ~ welcome carol. i am a wing it diy make it yours kinda person unless i really need a new gadget. it's easy to measure 3"-3.5" inches into a 6.5" square tapering off to the end and cut out a template to use. but there is room for all of us as quilters, the gadget folks and the diy folks.

    ~ and thanks ljfox. i didn't know the name of the pattern. i saw the quilt hanging in my lqs and just snapped a pic of it.

    I, too, would like to make my own strips. My question is where you join the strips, do you cut the strip straight across or on a diagonal?
