What a beautiful quilt! Outstanding color choices - your niece is lucky. And I am so so glad it could be rescued - kudos to Pungogal and Terri.

I’m glad you were able to have the bad quilting redone. You provided the quilt top, thread and a sheet for backing. How much did the original long arm quilter charge for doing the quilting? Did you go with the lady that gave you the quote of $50 to $75? Just curious.

Yes, I did go with her, she charged $75.00, I supplied the batting and the thread. Hard lessson to learn but I will not let it deter my new found passion for quilting.

And with the generosity of Pungogal and her friend and all the wonderful people who have posted kind words of encouragement, I say the best lesson I really learned is that , Yes, there are still many wonderful people out there. And in these days with so much gloom and doom, that lesson is priceless.

You’ve got a great attitude. So glad to see that you’re going to try your hand at doing the quilting yourself. I’ve never sent a quilt out to a LAQ, since mine are not really special. I use my ordinary sewing machine and just do stitch in the ditch, easy FMQ, or use stencils. If you like piecing (which I do), you’ll probably like quilting. Now that you’ve got all that experience at taking out tiny stitches, you’ll be a natural!

Just kidding. Looking forward to seeing your next project.
