    Default Floral Trellis

I'll bet there are several here who have made this quilt from Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting Magazine. The pattern is also found in their Seasonal Favorite Quilts from around 2000. I started pieceing this quilt in 2001 (I think - its has been awhile) and finally got it set together last December. I used Hobbs Poly batting. The quilting motif in the white alternate blocks is freehanded ( I can use that excuse as to why they are not "perfect") It was a lot of fun to quilt and worked up quickly as I didn't have to stop and center a design each time for the motif - I just started in the center of the block and worked my way out. I stitched on top of the green stems and leaves (by the way, they are pieced not appliqued) and added a little curling vine along the stems.

Your quilt is gorgeous. Everything about it is lovely; the colors, the design, the fabrics and of course the quilting. It looks like a blue ribbon to me.
