QM, would love to see something new from you as you seem to have a knack for characters and this thread is all about creating new characters and their friends.

Sure we can't tempt you to join in? Sounds like you are itching for a new project.

I am officiially caught up. September was supposed to just have fabric pulled last night. Well, here's September (Yosegi nikuzushi - simple pairs) Not only did I adapt the size from 9" finished to 12", but I adapted it from pairs as well. I have all 12 blocks figured out but may change one so I actually do the simple pairs as it is supposed to be. If I do it in pale spider fabric I may be able to use it as a label. Hmmm.

I'm pretty sure a few months will be done well ahead of time. I'm just having too much fun with this quilt.

And, yes, my centres line up perfectly. Yippee!

The more I think about it, the more I'm sure I need to make the block "properly". So, I end up with this block as a spare for another project. Gee, what a pity.

    Terrible problem to have!

And so, the Franky surroundings are starting to take place!
You could always make lots ... and hten the leftovers could be turned into potholders or placemats ... to add to your household theme! Or what about quilts for the kitlets? They deserve their very own joys of comfort!

Franky is starting to feel crowded on the design wall.

8 blocks are finished and one is cut and waiting for sewing. The 9th has striped fabric so I need to really concentrate when sewing it. Plus, it is the second block to have a half seam sewn, then pieces added, then the seam finished. The first was the one with the candy fabric in the centre and it turned out well.

Rather than post all those photos, here is a link to my Flickr page. All the blocks are there.

And here is a photo of Franky framed in his burgundy with gold spiders/web fabric. Such a high class monster.

Works4me, I am up to my eyeballs with projects right now, including gift log cabin cabins, Wintu basketry motifs strip quilt, preparing crazy quilt blocks for later embroidery, a ton of UFOs and a ton of charity quilts for kids in out of home placement. I just went through the pages of this topic and am delighted with what everyone has done. I love designing quilts and have WAY more designed than I could possibly make in my lifetime.

It occured to me that I should post this central character. Carlos Santana now has this quilt I made on commission in 2007.

The background was dyed by a friend of mine. The writing is several of Santana's songs and album titles. I can't draw worth beans, but I had fundoing this one.
