Wow, Jan, that is GORGEOUS! The batik colors are really great -- and you did a beautiful job on the piecing!!! :D

Jan, your center is gorgeous!!!! Yes, well worth the wait! You might even find (I don't know for sure)..but you just might find that extra 1/4" when you get the paper off...it does take up some room in your seams...so maybe...

And Elle...I just hate that I can't hold this one in my grubby little hands to drool on it. But....do NOT send it through the quilt klepto....I'd NEVER get to see it then!

It's small - 12.5" square - or actually closer to 12.25 - sorry about that! I was very surprised when I put my 12.5" ruler on it to check, because all the papers matched up perfectly, so I can't figure out where I lost 1/4 inch. It's my first try at foundation paper-piecing, though, so maybe I missed something somewhere.

I'm thinking that I will leave it up to Colletta as to whether to set it on pointe or not. I think it would look good either way, what do the rest of you think?

Now to carefully get all the paper backing off without ruining anything, and to make a label to send along with it.

I think it would look really nice on point but I'll wait til I see it in person to decide what to do. You're sure its ok for either way?

Thanks everyone for the kind comments!

Sandpat: I hope I do find (at least some of) the missing 1/4 inch once I've got all the paper off. I will carefully iron it again and see what happens.

Colletta: I'm sure. I've looked at it both ways and I like both a lot, so whichever way you want to go is great.
