    thanks i will show you the finished product when its done i am making 2 for my grandchildren for christmas so they will get done. lol

    Kuseta, I have 3 godmothers I made from the Paper Panache patterns also. There were so much fun.
    Mine are just tacked to the wall in my sewing room. Yours gives me inspiration to finish them. Yours is very nice.
    I had hoped to make several and put all in a quilt. Just not enough time in the day.

    After reading all the posts on this challenge I thought what a great idea and would love to give it a shot. My DH is a star trek fan I found this picture on pinterest today and thought that's it! So I am going to do a Spock quilt for him but it's a secret so I have to start planning and get a design going. This is the picture that gave me the inspiration. I'd like to do the star trek emblem around the centre I'm away for the next few days but I'll take my pencil and pad with me. [ATTACH=CONFIG]367301[/ATTACH]

    I also like to make this types of beautiful quilt but I dont know how to make but now I try to make beautiful quilt. If you have more info about quilt then share with me.

    Quilt Addiction ... Great idea. You've got your idea and with a few more googles, I'm sure you'll find some great Dr. Spock pics to spark the idea even more. Enjoy your time away and happy sketching!

    StenthPatric ... As you've noticed, these quilts are "one-of-a-kinds". The How To is basically take an idea or a picture and then just get creative. Some are spin-offs from other patterns. Some are self-developed paper pieced ideas. Some ... well, they just happen. So find something you'd like to create, and let the creative juices start flowing!

    Thanks. I don't really enjoy paper piecing and wasn't planning to make a godmother, even though I had printed a couple patterns. But I ended up taking the easiest sections of each pattern I had and combined them into Autumna. Now I'm trying to find the time to make a frog quilt with drunkard's path blocks. Hopefully soon.

    Quiltaddiction - welcome. Lucky DH. The idea sounds great and I'm looking forward to seeing how you go forward with it.

    Stenthpatric - welcome. As quiltE said, decide on a character and then let your imagination run wild. There are all sorts of techniques to use. As I noted at the very beginning, I designed Franky on graph paper and then did him out of 1" squares. There's paper piecing, a regular piecing and applique etc. Hope you join us.

    kuseta - I hope you find time for your frog quilt. We'll be here when you do.

    well, I haven't dropped out of this challenge. I actually do have a plan finally. As mentioned, I want to make myself a Doctor Who quilt. Not sure how big it's going to be yet but probably lap sized. I found good pics of a few of the monsters from the show and will probably hand embroider them since that will be easier than trying to create an applique (very detailed). I also found a great paper-pieced pattern for the main block (The Tardis - doctor's mode of travel). I've already bought the background fabric (darker fabric with lots of planets and stars).

    NOW....finding the time to work on it. I'll try to sketch a layout and get posted. But, I'm the type of quilter that starts from the center and works my way out and see what comes out. So what I sketch out might turn out totally different by the time I actually make it.

    Love how Franky is turning out - such creativity !!
