Default What are you doing this morning???

I am determine to get my sewing room cleanned and organized this morning. My fabrics are taking over the room. I am going to get rid of some of my scraps, donating them to the local thrift store. Refolding all of my fabrics using the ruler method and putting them in Clear bins. I have done a bunch this morning...what a difference!!! I have fabrics that I have totally forgot about. They are now easy to see and it does not look like I have as much. Much less of a mess. I have been cutting flannel pieces to make a Grinch that stole Christmas quilt for my hubby...I just need to cut the cotton front side pieces and batting. I have a ton of left over batting so perfect for the rag quilt.
I still have a closet full upstairs, but one step at a time...or one bin at a time.

I finished filling up one bin, so now to my other challenge...I do two rows a day on my latch hook rug. I use 1 to 1 1/2 inch scraps. It takes a lot of fabric...totally amazed how much it does use. The rug is nice and heavy. Once done I will use rug binding or burlap on the edge. Well off to do two rows and then I can bring to quilt. ; )

I love ruler folding fabric! It was the best thing I could have done in my craft room - it also condenses the material somehow as opposed to the way I used to fold my fabric (in to big clunky squares)

Me? I'm trying to wake up since I woke a bit too early this morning... then after others in the house start waking up, I'll be able to make a little noise and get ready to sew. My guild has a day long Sewing Saturday every few weekends. They decided that until Xmas they would like to meet more often to get more sewing done before the holidays... so I'm going to pack up my paper piecing project and go sew I'm about 3/4 the way done with my dragon paper pieced quilt so I'm going to kick out more of the pieces I think.... I'll bring a back up plan just in case... I always bring a second project to do just in case I get frustrated with one of them....

Great job on the organization! I've got to go for a morning walk (about 4 miles) while the traffic is light. then I'll be back in the sewing room.

I am working on some purses and gifts for my secret santaee. I hope to run by and visit my grandkids later.
I love the ruler fold method...so much easier to see what you have. Mine are in a cabinet. I don't miss those totes!

Love the rug!

Good Morning! I woke at 3:30 with pain from a cortisone shot in my shoulder ---- never thought to get on here at that hour!! I am fascinated with your fabric rug hooking. I used to do the yarn ones years and years ago. You mentioned quilting it?!?! Really? That looks like something I could do in the car while traveling. Have a good day!

I can't wait to see your dragon quilt!!! I just finished my two rows on the latch hook rug so now off to design my rag quilt and to figure out how many more pieces I need to cut for the other side of it. My husband wanted it to be 60 x 90 inches. Can't believe I am already making a Christmas quilt....where did the summer go?

Good morning to you all! I do have a mess in the corner of my room I need to start working on. The cats have claimed it as their own now. Yuck!
However, my husband is finally on a "normal" schedule and we aren't doing anything that isn't "fun" today!! It will be so nice to have my "running around buddy" back!!
Tomorrow, he does have to work, and I will work on the house a bit, then try to finish a quilt. The borders are awful on it, and I'm not sure what to do about that.
Craftydeb, I went to your website and I love your little crochet designs!! Great job!

Wow - I didn't think there was anyone else up in the world earlier than me on a Saturday!!

What is the "ruler folder fabric" method???

I am going to a quilt show in Greenville OH. Looked at hitting 2 others(I have $50 gift certificate to one!!), but they are just too far away and only open until 3. I can't get it all done in one afternoon. That will be another Saturday adventure.

I am working on a quilt for my friend - will be sewing on it while watching football this afternoon.
