:lol: Actually I have been sewing as long as I have been quilting. Until I started quilting the only thing I sewed was test pieces to see if my machines were set up right.

I have been doing this for about 8 months or so.

what lovely quilts. congrats. I have a necchi which is about 40 years old and is in a cabinet. It is a great machine. I also have an elna (50th anniversay edition) which is smal and does a good job on light work. Keep up the great quilting..

I definitely believe you should call yourself a quilter. Both quilts are great. The fact that your third quilt will be bed size, says it all.

That Universal is one stunningly beautiful machine. They just don't make them like that anymore. My first machine was a Kenmore, bought in the seventies. I used it for 20 years or more and never had one problem. I did find a felt pad around the feed dogs one time and couldn't remember if it belonged there or not. :oops: I have learned to keep my machines cleaner and even change my needle every now and then.

I find I change my needle quite a bit when I FMQ, I will slip up or do something unnatural and break them.

Oh well fortunately 15x1's are a dime a dozen!! :lol:
