Hi Leptiric below is the converter I am using I haven't had any problem my Singer works like a charm I know of another lady that uses the same converter, you don't need to have a double outlet mine has a double exactly as the link shows. Good luck let me know how you go.
    have a good day

this converter is 240 to 120 volts, and I need 120 to 240 volts... will 300 watts be enough, that is what i'm concerned.

I am using the exact same converter with out any problem and yes the 300 watts is more than enough for the sewing machine look at your machine it will tell you the wattage of your machine, my daughter in law is using the same converter and a friend bought the exact same on ebay for her singer machine, I presume you are Australian for this type of converter and you are buying your sewing machine from other country! The voltage throught the machine is going from 240 to 120 etc.. which is what you to get. I hope this help don't hesitate to get back to me if you need more help. Good Luck .

i am in europe and my machine is coming from USA.
the problem is that i do not have my machine yet and do not know which is her wattage, and people from singer refuse to tell me.
i bought singer quantum stylist 9960. which one is yours?
can anyone who has it tell me which wattage is it?

Now Leptiric The converter coming from Australia I showed you will have Australian plug I am not sure the type you have in Europe you will probably need a little adapter, the label on my machine show. Volts 120 60 hz Amps 0.9 I can't see the wattage but my husband says the 300 watts will be ok to use. I know I am using the same converter with out any problem my husband just said the machine would be roughly 165 watt maybe less a sewing machine doesn't use much wattage. Hope this help.
