A simple manly pattern is a dimensional bow tie out of 5 inch squares. They go together quickly and can be arranged in various patterns. I recently made blocks from a flannel precut 5 inch pieces that look like wool but are flannel. I bought a dark flannel from the same fabric lines for the setting strips and backing. It is very warm and manly looking but easy and looks impressive.

Like it very much. Can totally see this in many different colors for anyone. Even for newborn babies!

Now, that would make a lovely masculine quilt.

I have made a rail fence quilt in blacks and white with red sashings and it looked very dramatic.
