My 1st Attempt at Paper Piecing

Gloria asked:
Paper piecing is a type of foundation piecing. You use paper foundations with your block pattern on it, and actually sew your fabric onto the paper pattern's back side, with a small stitch length. It's one way to get really nice, sharp points! You also don't have to worry about straight-of-grain, since the paper acts as a stabilizer. When you're done, then you tear off the paper (which is easier with that tiny stitch) & voila!
It's one of those things that is confusing (to me anyway  ) to read about, but makes sense when you see it done.
Please explain what you mean by "paper piecing" Thanks.

Oh dojo...thanks beautiful! As soon as I get done quilting my big mariners compass quilt, I am going to do a quilt with the PP. I can feel a strong desire to run to my quilt shop for fabric...its a very powerful desire...don't know if I'll be able to withstand it...nope...I can't ...will have to go soon!
