I like shopping the fat quarter bundles, but I'm just worried that I'll stock up on them, and then I won't be able to use them for the one patterns I want, and I'll end up needing more, lol.

It's an endless cycle, isn't it?

I totally agree on the black matching super hard to do. I like 2 or 3 yrd of black. Red well heck all the colors you can come close but its like buying yarn you buy it all from the same dye lot or when you stitch it together it shows. I can ALWAYS find a good use for a fat quarter and give me a matching set, oh dear that would be wonderful. I would say most of my fabric is f8 or f4 as its all I can get at any given time or what is gifted tome. I do not complain I love fabric (swoon?)

You know it is funny but I have very little red in my stash, I am not sure why but I only buy red when I am using it. My
Stash is filled with brights, I love bright colors and it seems that I can't pass them up!

I am collecting B&W right now so I buy any FQ with any combination of black and white. I think I have enough now to make a scrappy quilt, now I just need a pattern I like.

Marybeth, just white/black or one accent color too? I found in the boom that a tiny bit of one accent, it was usually red wasnt it? was really eye catching. a bright blue would also be cool. Have you checked out e-patternscentral.com? lots to pick from there. I just found two I loved checking out quilts on pinterest and ordered from there. I love scrappy too. I am scared of too much white. My dh is not the most fastidious of men. He tends to spill things, not notice that grease on the side of his hand, muddy boot type. I love him dearly, those things.. not so much so no white oh heck no! splattered paint cloth might work save me some. really splattered.

I've been thinking about using this block as the basis for applique for this swap .... just not sure yet. Lots of ideas floating through my head .....

It has quite a story .... I found it about a month ago at a Salvation Army thrift store in a bag of rags ... and I just could not leave it there. It was super dirty so I soaked it in mild soapy water and then vinegar water and dried it in the sun. It is all hand stitched and hand quilted, muslin backing and batting, and measures 14" by 15". It looks to be about 30 years old. I thought it might be a great background for flowery applique.

But then by the time I get it done I might not be able to part with it.

MaryMo that is so pretty, and the story behind it makes it even more special.

Mary Mo I love that block. I am a big sucker for gingham look I would say that would make such a pretty table cloth with some length added it could be so adorable.. on my table even. Of course after all that work spills would really irk me so maybe a wall hanging.. for me! oops for someone!

I have so many easter fabrics now that my secret pal sent me I am beyond happy with what will turn out with the fabrics. They all FIT. of course if I use all of them it might be more like a jumbo wall hanging oversized lap quilt so maybe just a bit of each. The pinks, blues, ginghams and bunnies and eggs and now to find a soft yellow and maybe some little blue birds or chickies oh chickies! and it will be a home run. Might need to beg to have me as my partner. I wonder does begging work? like if it included bribes too? curiosity makes me ask

Hey don't forget all the quilt blocks I designed and put on here for free! LOL NOT that I am urging you to use my stuff but it would be really neat to see someone use them in a unique way! Aaah heck yes I am too urging you to consider my quilt block designs!! LOL But no you don't have to use anything but what you want to use!! Use what ever speaks to you from here or any other source you find.

Rhonda, I would *love* to attempt to use your blocks! (I say attempt, because I might botch them beyond recognition!)

I should probably get to planning for this, btw.... hmmm..... spring... wallhanging... I think I need to go shopping.
