if you have a pfaff can you help me with this question? i just bought a Magic Box. i was successful embroidering one design from the memory card. but now my machine gives me these messages - "not a pfaff card" "do you want to configure this card for pfaff?" "deactivate the write protect" is anyone familiar with this? how do i deactivate the write protect on the card??
thanks for any suggestions you can offer!

OKay, I had this same problem with my Pfaff and what I did was this - I put the cable into a different USB port - I turned the machine off and on - I straightened the cable from the machine to the computer many many times and it finally worked correctly.

I don't know why these are so sensitive...I really don't but keep trying...and when you find the USB port that works do not and I repeat do not forget which one it is or you will have to start all over. I leave my cable attached to the computer now.

Once in a while I still have to straighten the cable where it attaches to the sewing machine but mostly it works okay now.

If you can't get it to work, take it back to your dealer - machine and all and have them help you. My dealer when I talked to them over the phone didn't have any idea what I was talking about and as I am very stubborn I just kept trying and trying till it worked.

thank you Bluerose!! i will try again. the other problem is that i bought this on e bay so i can't ask the dealer. should have bought from a store. actually it is attached to one of those rectangular ports with about 12 wires sticking up. i have several USB ports but only one of these others. however, i will try turning it on and off several times and straightening the wire. will let you know... and thanks again

    Hi bluerose,
guess what! I did get the magic box working. it doesn't take a large file tho. I'm kinda disappointed in that. any large designs and I still have to lug my machine to the computer. I this what you have found? I see on ebay that there is a later magic box model out. i suppose i should have looked into this more before buying.
anyway, thanks for the tips, it worked.
