After my Thanksgiving weekend I am filing for a divorce from my scale. Things are not good on the scale. I ate everything. I am now back on the wagon.

I like Cindy's picture of setting the scale back ten pounds.

I have been out shoveling snow for the first time, which is actually late. It's a wet, heavy snow so hopefully I burned a few calories. The white/red dog, a Siberian mix loves and the little black Border Collie mix doesn't notice.

Now I can think about Christmas shopping. Some of us Northerners need snow to Christmas shop. I hope the Black Friday shoppers left a few things though I know Home Depot is out of a lantern I wanted for my son. My list is a page and half long on a legal pad because these 'guys' just keep getting married and having children.

I ate too much on Thanksgiving, but no thirds. - Oh, oh, the apple dessert after I came home. Well, almost no thirds. Apples, cinnamon, sour cream, butter. What's not to like. My weight is where is started this month. Can I lose two pounds in the next few days?

I'm putting the binding on a Spicy Spiral. I think I will sew this one by hand. The other machine has an apron still on it and there is a mystery quilt waiting in the wings. I am NOT doing any Christmas sewing, but I do have a baby quilt to start - the shower is in January. Will horizontal zigzags be okay with only using six colors and repeating them? I hope so. I'm having trouble with gender neutral when I think she's having a girl. My brain is thinking pink.

I am losing weight and getting healthier.

hope everyone is back on track. i am. and hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving. everything good is out of my house now. sent a lot home with a daughter. and hubby ate the rest. got a lot of sewing done today. made pillow cases out of flat sheets that were still good. after the bottom sheets were long gone. that's what i like about the basement. i go down and sew, and just stay there. don't even take anything to drink. if i get thirsty, i have to climb the stairs to get it. extra calories get burned that way, i figure. about a week left before weigh in. be good, and make this week count.

Maybe that's my problem - my primary piecing machine is 8 feet from the fridge. I sew in the family room and my sewing room is for storage. The family room is next to the kitchen.

I survived Thanksgiving without gaining.. but I did join a gym again now that I'm working again and I am signing up for a 5k that happens new years day. I do 5k's all the time for various causes but I hadn't done one in awhile, and unlike the ones for causes, this one's cause is myself. This one I'm going to try to jog at least 1 mile straight. I used to jog 5 miles a day a long time ago.

Watch them knees and ankles Ana - all that shock on them after you haven't been running can be stressful. Just take it easy.

hehe I'm 32. I usually do them for like.. Alzheimers, AIDS, Breast cancer (not the susan b koemen, I could never raise that much money), Humane society.. different causes I like to help. I don't raise much because I don't like approaching people but i bring them something and i get the exercise and a t-shirt But this one is solely a commitment to the participants own health. Best cause of all right...

Anastasia, I will have to look in to the Commitment 5K. I see they are doing it in Cincinnati area. That is where I live. I do a few 5K's a year for various causes. I help coach Girls on the Run every year at school. I don't run, I walk the whole way. My goal was to finish faster than last year which was 43 minutes. I didn't do it this year. Partly because I am out of shape and partly because my walking partner this year was slower. I have bad knees and my doctor advises against running.
My eating is back on track the last 2 days. MY Dh finished all of the cookies and chips so I didn't have to eat them. I made stir fry for dinner and my DH actually liked it. He usually complains there isn't enough meat in it. It was really good. I am hoping there will be enough for lunch tomorrow. We are still getting spinach out of the garden and I am getting tired of it.
