    Default Mega Quilter

I have the opportunity to buy a Mega Quilter with the frame ....it hasn`t been used a lot but I do have a Sapphire 875Q......but would love to have a machine on a frame.....thy are asking 1 800$ for it....not sure if it is a good deal....i don`t think that it would do anything more than my Sapphire except that maybe I would have more freedom to free motion quilt because it`s on a frame...i`m really unsure.....any thoughts would be very usefull.....ty

Check to see what mega quilter it is. The going price for the 9in according to Viking when a store is getting it for a trade in is 400. There is also an 18in one. That being said, it cost around 1000 brand new. It is a great machine; I have one and wouldn't trade it in because of what I'd lose price ways. I'm not sure about the frame; get the name and google it.

I just purchased the 9" mega quilter and Inspira frame for 1300............I keep getting skipped stitches, tried new needles...thread, tension............this morning I took the machine off the carriage, put on the regular foot and took off the darning plate.......BEAUTIFUL stitches! top and bottom tension is perfect.....put on the darning plate and changed to the darning foot.............every time I attempt free motion I get skipped stitches? Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I have been FMQ for a while on my domestic machine so am not new to FMQ ....thanks...

I was having the same issue with my Janome 1600P on a Handiquilter frame. My local LQS suggested I check to see that the encoders were resting comfortably on the track (as it moves) and the track was clean and free from lint. She said most often the encoders are the reason for skipped stitches. It worked for me. Hope this helps.
