OH my, I love it! I want to be an artist of Denim fabric one day! Maybe when I grow up! In the 80's I was really into what they called "soft Art" painting with fabric! I love looking at that kind of quilt at the the quilt shows... speaking of which, who is going to the Road to California? I want to meet you if you are going! I am going for sure, I will look at the proper thread for events, I am pretty sure there is one! Denim is one of my favorite used items of cloth to work with, it is so versatile. I should post pictures of some of my stuff that I make and sell at fairs, or really anywhere!

Haha Jaba, you give me way to much credit! I would love to try to make one, but I am not sure you would hang it in your home! Maybe the Garage! But seriously that artist is amazing!I wish I could see up close and personal~ details, love the details~

I have made a few denim quilts... Just a few because they are so darn heavy when you are done you could not afford to ship the darn thing! The first one I made was for my son, because he begged! Being Mom how could I say no! He loves it! it was for a double bed when he was a single man with no responsibilities, now he is no longer single and they fight constantly over that darn quilt! I was going to bring it home with me on my last visit but he would not let me! I had to bring my sewing machine to him! Talk about a brat! He thought I would never get it back to him if I took it! ha

Had to make one for his dog, Her name is Symeria. Symeria's quilt is also heavy, and talk about scrappy, the other side of her quilt is way scrappy! She loves it! The third and last one I made was a Queen sized Quilt, it was a mock Cathedral Window and I will never do one of them again...

Well OK if you pay me enough, and if I have lots and lots of time! The person I made it for actually drove pick it up! and it really was an awesome work of art! Pictures are on my computer, the one that I don't use any more but really one day need to down load all the stuff it is keeping.

(wow did I get a hold of some strong coffee today or what!)

In addition to the brown one, I decided to make a second one, this time with bright scrappies. If we've been in a Boomerang swap or a charm swap, you might see some fabric that looks familiar! LOL! I'll probably use black fabric and white fabric for my "A" and "B".

Love the paper bag idea. I'm ordering a new rotary cutter from Joann's soon- does anyone have recommendations for the one they love? I think it will motivate me to do more projects than the cheapie one I have now.

This is the one I have my eye on. http://www.joann.com/fiskars-60mm-ti...prd_10805216a/

Jaba, do you remember the name of it and the price? I can't find it on Nancy's site. Thanks

I am home sick today from work, I have pulled my fabric scraps and have pressed them. No I need to cut them, I am hoping I get to feeling better and can get to the cutting table and get some of them cut so I can start sewing.

I hate being sick. feels like it could be the flu. I hope it isn't.

I cant wait to get the next installment in this mystery train ride.........I am gonna make some home chicken soup

dede, i dropped off the homemade blueberry jam to go with your bread. they were both gone, in no time.
yes, PMJ, i did the paper bag method. i hope this train ride scenery turns out to be as nice as the last one. can hardly wait for daybreak tomorrow morning to see where we are headed.
and yes, i had trouble coming up with all 108 different patches, but then i bit the bullet and came up with 108 more. so i sure hope this turns out pretty.

wow take a little bit of time off and a zillion posts! I love your flower scrappy Sula and that bright one is going to work its way to my house. A bit of sunshine in a cold winter home. I dont own bright scrappys yet. To the lady with little scraps if you save them from each quilt you make you will have a ton in no time at all. there is always a bit left over. Even if you make doll quilts or table runners you end up with scraps right ladies? I normally throw mine away. shush up I know. I just mailed two zip bags out to those who wanted tiny scraps those 1.5 to 2.5 scraps I wont cut those way too small for my eyes. probably lose a finger if I tried.

I have the yellow handled rotary cutter and it works great over 10 yrs going. the blades you change up and I tried cheap blades one never again. mine are omni. great products from that company and long lasting. from mats to cutters to templates.
