Default I had an idea about using insul-bright to protect credit cards - will it work?

I was wondering if I made a tote or wallet using insul-bright if it would protect a credit card like those metal wallets you can buy.

    Here's a description for insul-bright:

Insul~Bright consists of hollow, polyester fibers needlepunched through a nonwoven substrate and through a reflective metalized poly film. The needled material is breathable and won’t break down with washing. The hollow fibers resist conduction while the reflective metalized poly film resists radiant energy. The energy, hot or cold, is reflected back to its source.

    Any and all comments appreciated.

Have you contacted the manufacturer with this question? They may know or may want to test it out and let folks know. I have no idea.

This idea sounds intriguing ... could it be that easy? I'd be interested to hear if it really works.

I don't understand what you want to protect the credit cards from?

Insulbrite will certainly protect them from heat, but I'd be surprised if it did more than that. Been wrong before mind you and will watch thread for more info!

Read this info at ehow: http://www.ehow.com/how-does_5772197...ds-purse_.html

I was not aware of this type of technology until my DH told me about it a year ago.

One would want to protect there credit and debit cards from being scanned in your wallet from thieves. Such technology has existed for a few years now. You can be anywhere and someone goes by you with the right tool which you would not see and it will scan the cards in your wallet/purse if not protected to block such. I have had one of those card holders for about 2-3 years now. You can purchase such for about 6-10 dollars in most stores anymore which would be still alot cheaper than buying insulbright and making one.

Also forgot to mention that they can also d/l software to there iphones and do the same at a distance if you are at a place where you would use those money machines to get money out such as banks, many grocery stores have them as well today.

as far as i'm concerned if someone wants to steal something from you, they will. doesnt matter what you are trying to protect it with. locks are for honest people, not theives.
