Well, I've started on my patriotic quilt for 2013.

I saw the Something New Sampler blog hop and decided it would be cool in the Northcott Oh Canada Quilts Of Valour line from 2012. 8 of the 9 blocks are techniques I've never done and one was dione differently so this could be interesting. All 9 blocks finish at 7 x 14.

    Here is block 1.

And block 3. Block 2 will be hard for me so I'm waiting until I have completely uninterupted time (ha!)

W4Me .. Looks like the maple leaves are tumbling down and scattering here and there! Will be interesting to see how yours progresses with the patriotic twist. I like how they are not making the blocks the traditional square sizes ... will make it unique in more ways!

And block 2 Folded Block. This was hard as the instructions did not seem to work for the size of background fabric. I had to play with it quite a bit.

W4Me ... looks like you're having a good quilty weekend! Learning new techniques are good ... think of all the ways you can use them now. I haven't tried the folded method you are using and wonder if it's like when I do the flanges? I was using the Oh Canada QOV red tonight for a PC block and was thinking of you. Wonder? will they have a 2013 addition to their line?

DublB ... is this a PC block? Love the colours ... of course, your trademark RW+B!
