A lot of good suggestions have been made so you have options to experiment with. Your piecing and curves are perfect, drunkard's path is one of my favorite patterns because there are so many ways to lay it out. Keep us posted as to how you finish up.
I agree. A narrow white border before adding the wider border may just be the trick to breaking it up a bit. The quilt is gorgeous! Nice job

I like it but if it was mine i would put a 2 or 3 inch light colored or light gray strip around the top then add the border. beautiful quilt and you matched everything nicely but i think if u did that you might like it better...

I think it looks great as it is. You did a good job of picking a border that compliments the drunkard's path pattern.

It is a beautiful top. The floral border looks nice to me and I feel works well with the whole colour scheme. Perhaps it would work better to have a thin light border between the blocks and the floral border? About 1/2"-2" in width depending on your preference? You could try a cream, white, grey, tan or yellow colour maybe? Just a suggestion. I think that you need to do what you feel is right for you. Best wishes and I look forward to seeing your completed quilt! Thank you for the opportunity to offer my thoughts.

That's exactly what I was thinking - a mix of geometic/modern with traditional seems to clash.

I like the contrast between the border and the blocks. I was trying out a pattern from Eleanor Burns and I ended up with a long thin quilt center. I also did not have enough fabric to make it wider. I bordered it and will hopefully use it as a quilt for a cancer raffle. I will try to post pic tomorrow to get opinions as you have done. Yours looks better then mine!
