I'm making some heart appliques to put on a quilt. I need to be sure I have enough bobbin thread before I start each applique. It will go a ways if it runs out of thread before it stops to let you know. I don't see that there is any way to advance from the beginning of the design to the point it ran out of thread so you can continue from there. I need to either trash the applique I was working on or try to run the program from the beginning with no thread until I get to where I want to use thread again. Of course it continues to keep stopping because there is no thread. Unfortunately, I don't have enough of one of the fabrics that I can afford to throw any away. I guess that's one drawback to an inexpensive machine. I'm really enjoying the machine, tho, and I just bought it as a starter. If I find I want more, I can upgrade.

I'm looking for some good videos or tutorials on how I might be able to do quilt labels with this machine. Anyone know of any? I need step-by-step help, as I am practically a ME virgin. Thanks!

ON THE Brother PE500 U go to the screen where it says adjust and layout and you can hit the minus button to move back where you stopped.. I M still loving mine so far.. I was having a bad time till I got the right thread and stabalizer. I LOVE it I cant stop..:O) OOO and if you got to do the threader and it will not work right you have to make sure your needle is in the right position..

I have this cute little machine and have sewn up samples for reference later. It is easy to use.
Surfed the web for 2 days now looking for designs. The cards are very expensive and most are for 5 x 7 areas but some have designs that include some for 4 in but at the prices its not worth it.
Did find some redwork designs that have some 4 in. but again expensive.
Guiss I will break down and order some baby redwork designs and evenually may have a larger area machine and will still be able to use it.

if you can download designs it is much more economical. I love dkembroidery.com and annthegran.com, lots of free designs and I pay the membership at dk because it is sooo worth it. Really depends on what size embroidery you want to do

Jujudesigns is cheap at around $3 a set for lots of regular designs and redwork.
Just have to figure out how to download from my computer to my machine.

Just wondering how everyone is still liking their PE500. I'm thinking of getting one to do quilt labels and maybe some other embroidery. Is anyone using it with the new EQ stitch program?

I just finished a baby quilt using teddy bear red work designs and 9 patch as alternate blocks.
Wish my camera would download pics again. For some reason it decided it would not recognize my usb port.
