This will be beautiful!! It looks like you have 4 or 5 pieces ln each side of the "ring." I have seen some with as many as 12 pieces in a side of the ring, and that is lots more work. It was an antique that was hand pieced! This one looks good.

I think you will have an easier time piecing because you have the accuquilt die. It really helps because of the perfect cut and the markings. In the Feb issue of American Patchwork and Quilting theres an article on making cutting easier and more efficient and accuquilt go was mentioned using the Winding Ways die for the Way Around quilt on the cover. Good luck and I'm certain you will enjoy the journey of making the DWR quilt.

There is a good video out there on how to do it. I will see if I can find it again.

I've made 3 of these. Two multi-colored pastels and one in maroons. (I think they're both in my album here) I used the applique method. Hand appliqued, hand quilted and it took... FOREVER. It would have been a lot faster had the rings been one color instead of 6. That's a LOT of cutting and sewing. If I ever decide to do one again (in the far, far future) I'll only use one color for the rings and machine applique it.

*OH! My avatar is of the maroon quilt

I would recommend John Flynn's Double wedding Ring approach to making the quilt. It's done with strip piecing, so no LITTLE pieces It was one of the first quilts that I made and it came out looking great and my daughter loved it....all in Pinks and 'chocolate'...her wedding colors. The templates are great to use......
