My hubby tries to get involved with ALL of my hobbies! He gets involved on the guise that he's interested, or wants to help, but really he's out to seek and destroy. I'm constantly kicking him out of my business. We used to have 2 gardens, mine and his, but we moved recently and now we're down to one garden again. He needs to find his own space soon...very soon, or the fur's gonna fly! Quilting is great because he knows better than to so much as touch my beloved sewing machine. Even he knows THAT would be going too far.

I DO love him, though.

My husband also helps out on the math that I'm frequently stumped with. He is a carpenter, so figuring out angles, yardage, he's a wiz. I was having a big problem deciding on a wide boarder for a quilt this winter. I had two fabric choices and asked his opinion. Against my better judgment, I went with his choice and this time, he was so right about it!

My husband has designed and made several ice fishing tents. Makes his own patterns, rotary cuts and sews them. He's done a great job.

Mine has more of the supporting role, but when I need him to step in he does. He can sew - was a drama teacher and a great hand at making costumes. He hasn't done any quilting, but when I'm having trouble he's right there to help. When I was having trouble with my machine he did the calling to the repair shop to try to find out what could be wrong. He bought my machine for me - well, it's our money - but he called around and found it then went to get it and bring it home. He'll willingly come in to look at stitches - either to offer help or to praise them. I work two jobs and he's retired so ... that's part of the reason!

I had a husband that resented my quilting and crafts...since I was the major support for the household, he had no say about what I bought or did with my time...Did I mention HAD--he's now an ex...

my husband is very creative and a bit of an enabler. He'll give his opinion when it is asked for, and back off when it isn't. I know all my things will go to a very capable artist should i pass first.

My guy has the whole garage for his wood working. He has sat down and sewn strips onto adding machine paper and made fabric for me as he calls it. He also helps collect antique sewing machines and I was hoping he would jump in and use the long arm but besides putting the quilt on the machine and maintaining the long arm he has not worked on it. Maybe this is good too as I like my space and sometimes he tends to want to lead too much. I need some areas of life that go my way and I do not have to do how some one else thinks I should do it.

I am still a newlywed in that we married Dec. 7th! First husband died 3 yrs ago we were married 33 yrs. Anyhow current husband has his own hobbies we are both retired, he has chickens geese we raise dogs have a parrot, he walks every day 4 to 6 miles a day. Frankly he makes me tired! Lol. I sew and he goes with me to shop but he stays quiet, he will load machines in the van wrestle them in the house, we both have separate retirement income so we split the bills then we don't tell each other what to do with the rest.

My DH is super! He actually picked out the embroidery machine we have (Brother Inovois 2800D) as I wanted a smaller one...he insisted we get the larger one and he was right. He used it more than I did for several months even doing shirts for me to wear. Then a year ago, he decided we needed a long arm (he had been "eyeing" it for a while) and he has used it several times too. He hasn't cut anything out or sewed on the regular machine (oh wait, he did help sew the leaders for the long arm).
