    HA!!!! I know plenty of people that could and would restore that Singer 127, and one of them is me.

    It's been fun to read your replies. You've reacted the same way I did - a combination of disbelief, admiration, and amusement. It makes me wish I knew the quilter/vintage SM collector that lives at the end of the driveway. We would probably have a lot of things in common - and I would tell her/him that I know a wonderful bunch of people who could commiserate and/or help with that machine. You guys are great!
