I just sorted mine and put them in the plastic sleeves and into three ring binders....6 large binders. I have more patterns than I could possible use, but am now more likely to use them because I can find them.

I keep the books I want and patterns with templates. Otherwise I scan and save on a flash drive.

I did keep a quilt journal, but I'm not a journalist, yet.

I use a 3-ring binder with clear sheet protectors (bought at Walmart) in it and I slip my patterns into them. That way they are stored flat, can be seen quickly and are all neatly stored. Also, if I purchase a pattern, I make a photo copy of it before I use it - that way I can make notes on the copy, tape fabric samples to it, etc. and not damage the original.

I keep my store bought patterns in rectangular baskets in no particular order. I love to just flip through them periodically! I keep all my magazines in cardboard magazine holders on a shelf. They each hold a few years worth since you usually only get 6 a year. I keep all computer printed patterns in plastic sleeves in three ring binders. If I have the pattern and the fabric I store them in a 2 gallon ziploc baggie. Because I have such a collection of patterns I have limited the buying of anymore and now save my money for fabric!!

Oh wow lol I love collecting patterns. I keep them in those magazine things that allow you to stand magazines up on shelves. I can't remember what their proper name is. You get them from office supply shops.

I have way too many patterns...even after getting rid of a lot. I have a dresser drawer full of clothing patterns. A shelf full of Christmas and Autumn patterns, and another shelf of other patterns. I will never live long enough to make them all, but love looking through them for inspiration.
