    Default standard rotary treadle carvings

    does anyone know what this carved design is called? looks like a winged serpent or dragon with horns?

    Looks like it may have long tail feathers, so maybe a phoenix or griffon?
    No clue otherwise, and it's on a treadle cabinet?

    I thought of gryphon also, but when I checked the various spellings
    i found it has the reverse- head of a hawk and body of a lion.
