I made one from a metal coat hanger and, of course, scraps. I primarily use it on my serger, but collects from many points. Made a small bag through which the unbended coat hanger goes, holding it in front of the base plate of the serger. I bent the ends to fit around the back legs of the serger. Works great and recycled a piece of fabric!

Guess you could do the same thing for a table using elastic/bias tape around the machine body.

Velcro would hold it to the underside/edge of a table....dunno, just a thought.

When you are tossing those tiny bits of fabric and threads, remember our feathered friends would appreciate the home making supplies. I put my theads and tiny bits on the front patio and watch them come down to retrieve their finds. Gives a lot of pleasure.

Before I made this one I have, I used to cut the bottom out of a plastic baggie and tape the edges to stregthen it, tape it to the table and when it was full you only have to open the bottom zipper to empty it.
