I even did a half day course and all I got to show for my trouble was a crooked, pathetic little poppy!

 I bought a book, needles and loads of ribbons (cost a fortune!) so I'm waiting here with baited breath for your tute - I'm sure you'll explain loads better than the French lady I went to! Oh poor Elle - you really shouldn't have said that! I'll nag you senseless now![/quote]

Well that was because she was French and you couldnīt understand her. lol. That is the only thing with silk ribbons they are so expensive, but I love the results and it grows fast as well.
    Sending you a PM.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments it made all the probs I had with it worthwhile. I have to tell you I had to do it twice as I cut it wrong the first time :hunf: so off it all came and I bought some more fabric and started again.

Thanks Cutebuns, I was lucky as I had a big area to work on for the first round, that makes a lot of difference.
    Glad you like it.

The space and where the quilt is at has a lot to do with what you can do with it, this first round for the most part was simple, at least for me, but I am sure that by the time the next few rounds go by that it will get more involved, I will be looking forward to see what comes out of Spain, your group will be working on my snowflakes, I can't wait to see what they come up for it.

Oh, Elle, I am so sorry you had so many problems - you must have been tearing your hair out. I hope you can use what you took off so it doesn't go to waste. I can't thank you enough, because it is so lovely, I shall really enjoy sleeping under it some time next year!

I was more than happy to oblige!

It was much harder than I expected - coming up with a border that I felt did the centre justice, I mean, so I really hope you like it!

It is GREAT! You didn't know that friendship stars are one of my favorite little blocks, did you? That is just really special!
I have to ask .. did you use the Joan Hawley Lazy Angle to make the gold stars? and, thank you for making the square into a rectangle ... I think you succeeded magnificently!
Now I have to go back to last minute finishing touches ... today did not work out like I had planned ...
