Welcome from Louisiana I too prefer to quilt at home. I do get together with a small quilt guild a couple of times a month and we do a road trip 2 or 3 times a year. Just a day trip to a small quilt show and then hit 2 or 3 quilt shops. Quilters are the best!

I'm not much for group activities myself, but have really learned a lot from my guild, even if I don't show or tell much. As you get involved, remember that each group has it's own personality based on history of the group and members, so if one group doesn't feel like a match, look for another - or as one gal said - start your own.
