Default Anyone have a recipe for sugar free barbeque sauce?

My DH is diabetic and I am looking for a sugar free barbeque sauce recipe. I have tried a couple but they are not very tasty!
    Thanks

Start with a basic recipe omitting the sugar, use brown sugar splenda and crushed pineapple for flavor.
cook until thick. The brown sugar add to taste.

I agree with Phyllis NM - I use either honey or agave for the sugar

Honey is a form of sugar and would not work for diabetics.

This sounds reasonable to me as the "red gravy" (ketchup) my DH loves is full of sugar. Unsweetened crushed pineapple will add texture, too.

I haven't made BBQ sauce but I make teriyaki sauce and use splenda in it. I also make blueberry pie and use all splenda. My husband just has to be careful on the size of pie he eats.

I don't use honey as it shoots his sugar way up.

There is that Walden Farms BBQ sauce that is sugar free at most larger grocery stores. Also, if you made the recipe that one of the other members posted, you could use the Heinz sugar-free or low-sugar (can't remember exactly what it is) ketchup.

Thanks for all the ideas! I checked and both honey and agave are a no no for my DH. I will let you all know how my "adventures in BBQ sauce" turns out!
