I know you are looking for something less expensive, but I decided to send you this link anyway because they are so cute. Of all the snowmen I have, these are my favorites. The link is:

I am new to machine embroidery and found that http://www.embroiderydesigns.com has a large selection of designs. They allow you to choose 3 free designs a week with no other purchases. They have over 2,500 free designs to choose from! Have fun! I know I did!

Charming Station Embroidery has free snowmen every week. You can also get their previous ones if you miss any.

For just hand embroidering Wal-Mart has Martha's Patterns for different motives--cheap, easy to do. In our store, just look back by the embroidery thread and crafts. Mariah

The iron-on transfers from Wal-mart sound like a great idea. I wouldn't have thought of that. How about tracing
snowmen from some children's coloring books or story books. It's worked for me.
