    Default threading your needle tip

For Christmas I got a Libby Lehman dvd & 1 section of it is a few tips. An easy way to thread your needle is to put the thread end in the groove of the needle - slide the thread down the needle groove and, when you get to the eye, the thread will slip right in!

I have a needle threader, but had to try this. It worked!!

when I have trouble threading my needles I place a piece of white card stock behind the eye, makes it much easier for these old eyes. LOL Works good for hand or machine needles.

There should be a groove in the needle on one side if you look close. It is also easier to thread a needle from one side than the other, because when the hole is put in the needle, it is punched out by machine, and on the side facing the machine the hole is larger.

F you wet the needle eye the thread will catch and slide through. Don't wet the thread as it expands. Also cut the thread on the angle these do work. But sometimes it's not our eyes but our hands that get in the way. I am terrible at threading machine by hand then catching the thread with my hand as I move away.

I have found that putting the needle to the thread works better than trying to poke the thread into the eye of the needle. Put the thread in your left hand between thumb and fore finger. Only the tip of the thread showing. Lay the needle,in your right hand, onto the fingers and right onto the thread.

I should have specified the needle in your sewing machine, not your hand sewing needles.
