I'm so sorry for your loss. Your family will love those quilts. I lost my brother in law last summer and I have just completed 3 tee shirt quilts for his 3 boys. It will be a warm hug from their dad.

Such a lovely idea, such a wonderful keepsake. It must be good to have a hobby and a project like this to help you through this difficult time. He must be looking down and smiling.

We lost our 52-year old son to melanoma four years ago. His wife was devastated--she would not let anyone touch his clothes. I offered to make her a memory quilt from his shirts and jeans, and she brought me a stack of them. It made a wonderful quilt, and I used as much orange and blue as I could, since he was an Auburn grad and an avid Auburn football fan. The picture I took of it was with my old phone, so I can't include it here, but she loved the quilt and uses it constantly. I hope it helps her to feel nearer him--I know it made me feel close to him as I worked on it, remembering each garment and where he wore it. My best wishes go out to you!

What a nice idea. It is therapy for you and your children both. I'm sure the quilts will be treasured. So sorry that you lost your husband.

Beautiful quilt and great idea! Each quilt will be treasured and loved and how cathartic it is for you to be making them with so much love and memory filling! So very sorry for your loss.

I had to smile when i read your added post about 73 cotton shirts in you dear husband's closet.....perhaps he and my husband are somehow related. Your idea is so sweet - and such a wonderful way to remember and honor your husband. Wishing you serenity.
