Help! I cut my backing fabric length same size as the top!

I recently finished one where I had actually cut the backing smaller by a smidge. I added a tiny sliver to make it bigger and when I didn't care for the look, I covered it up with the label. This will probably not help you but I would not be afraid to add a bit to each end to make it match. If it is small enough, you may be able to hide it with the binding.

That will still look intentional - and give you some wiggle room. I have always had some slippage with the backs, and the bigger the piece, the more "grace" I need.

Good ideas. I'm not much help about things like this because I don't like to fuss with making something work. I put the miss cut piece back in my stash and buy more the size I need or use another piece for backing.
