Default Advises please! What quilt border would fit?

Hey all! Can you please give me an advice what border would look good to that quilt? I need to attach at least 10 inches to each side. So it will come out to the size i want after quilting. What colour? Would you add appliques to border, too? Thanks

Sorry, no advice on the border but have to say that is one beautiful quilt. Love the colors too.

I would put a moderate inner border of the darker color, and then a wider one for the outside. You could put corner squares to break it up a bit. That way you get the ten inches that you need, but it is not all one piece.

The 4 blocks inside the quilt would make great border in keeping with the theme. (hashtags #)

I would also put a narrow (1-2 inch) inner border of the dark purple fabric to "frame" it. For the larger outer border consider a small print pattern fabric with the same purple and white colors. Since your beautiful quilt body is all solids I think a subtle print on the outside border (and back and binding) would balance it nicely.

I would do a large purple border and do a pretty scalloped edge to match the scallops in the quilt. In the center if each of the purple scalloped I would repeat the appliqué motif but in white. Pretty purple and white top!

How big are your blocks? I think it would look nice if you just mirrored the border with the scallops and corner blocks--if the blocks are the size you need of course. I don't think a plain border would look right, especially with all the lovely applique in the body. Beautiful quilt by the way.

I like the idea of corner squares. I like the darkest color fabric on the outside edge. Your quilt is beautiful.
